The fight to save our NHS

When Labour created the NHS in 1945, it was said that a free, public health service would last as long as there are people willing to fight for it.

But the NHS privatisation imposed by the Tories means patients like Clare Pratt now find it impossible to get an appointment to see their GP. David Cameron’s top down re-organisation has seen money that should be spent on treating patients wasted.

Now the NHS is struggling with patients unable to see their GP, A&E waiting times soaring, and 1 in 3 NHS Trusts in deficit.

Our NHS is struggling under the Tories, but UKIP aren’t the answer. We already know that UKIP are even more right wing than the Tories. They want to charge people to see their GP, deliver bigger tax cuts for millionaires, scrap rights at work and ensure even deeper cuts to public services.

A vote for UKIP isn’t a vote for change. They share the same principles, the same wealthy donors and the same values as the Tories. In fact, they're more Tory than the Tories themselves.

The fact that a Tory MP has now joined UKIP shows that the message to working people is clear: vote UKIP and you not only get policies that are more extreme than the Tories, you also get the Tories themselves.

That ’s why Liz McInnes is the only answer for Heywood and Middleton.

Labour have selected a serious candidate who will fight for the NHS. Liz was born locally, has lived in this constituency and worked for the NHS for 30 years.

Only a vote for Labour at this election will send a message to David Cameron that the people of Heywood and Middleton deserve a fair deal.
