Liz McInnes has announced she will be accepting donations to a local foodbank at her Heywood office in a bid to help raise awareness and support for the charity.
Heywood St Vincent de Paul Society foodbank helps to provide food and other essential items to local people in desperate need of support, and Father Daly of St Joseph’s Church, Heywood, has welcomed Liz’s support.
Father Daly says: “It's a sad fact of life in our town that many families and individuals need support from our Foodbank to make ends meet. The generosity of Heywood people is superb. Families, individuals, shops, schools, churches donate so generously. Heywood Foodbank is so grateful to Liz McInnes MP for allowing people to drop off donations at her constituency office.”
Liz McInnes MP says: “I am pleased to be able to help the Foodbank in any way I can, and I hope that offering to accept donations at my office may make it easier for some people to drop off donations, or at the very least will help to raise awareness of the charity and its invaluable work. I think we can all agree that it is shameful that we need Foodbanks in this day and age, but for as long as we do need them we should all be incredibly grateful for the generosity and hard work of Father Daly and the many other volunteers who help those in need.”
