A visit to Heywood foodbank

heywood_foodbank.jpgLiz recently visited the Heywood foodbank to meet the volunteers and thank them for all the help they have given to those in need around the town.

The fact that the foodbank helps out 1,000 people a month shows what pressures many are feeling under this Tory led government.

It's great to see the fantastic generosity of local people and the large amount of time and effort the volunteers put in to help these families and Liz wanted to thank them personally.

Liz was shown around the foodbank, saw how the donations were shared out and discussed ways she could help the foodbank in the future. Liz also met Cameron Carty and Daniel Southern who were helping at the foodbank for the first time.

Our fervent hope is that all foodbanks will close because they're no longer needed, but Liz will do everything she can to help them while they are needed and is hugely impressed with the dedication of everyone involved.
